I don't know if it is just ingrained in every Southern girl's being or if it has something to do with being in junior high school in the 80's when Bermuda bags were the original "it bag," but I have a serious thing for monograms.

I am devoted to Arzberger Engravers and would not know what to do about thank-you notes, business cards, wedding announcements, party invitations, seating place cards, or basically anything paper and ink related without their understated, appropriate, exquisite, and always just right creations.

They are one of the oldest presses in the country and since 1922 they have hand-cut plates and printed in house. I love the fact that my birth announcement was created by the same people that created my daughter's birth announcement 35 years later.
My other favorite mecca of monograms is Leontine Linens. I discovered them in New Orleans years ago and have been in love ever since. Jane Scott Hodges started Leontine in 1996 to create hand-made linens and acquired the historic Eleanor Beard Studio (which has been around since 1921) to produce Leontine's stunning couture linen collections. They make the most divine quilts, sheets, shams, duvets, towels, cocktail napkins, jewelry rolls, night gowns, and quilted bed jackets, and everything is custom-made to your color and monogram preference.

These are images from my master bedroom and my guest bedroom (and, yes, I do need to work on making my beds better... hospital corners these are not, and my mother would be mortified.)
It is absolute heaven to me and would bet that anyone with a taste for impeccable quality and gorgeous couture linens would go crazy for Leontine Linens.
Owner Jane Scott Hodges will be in Charlotte on Thursday and Friday at Capitol from 10am until 6pm. Drop by to meet her and see her magnificent wares.
